For the love of the world of rainbows and unicorns who I owe so much too, please bear with this. Cinderella’s story is something we all know- it’s the classic example when it comes to rags to riches, but what if the story really goes beyond that?
Cinderella’s life was perfect- she had everything she ever wanted and then one day, a storm changed everything. Sounds familiar to your life as well, right? Except you’re probably enjoying the eye of the storm- where everything is ideal. Bit by bit, something triggers you and makes you realise that there is something to be achieved and this something keeps you awake and fills you with a certain kind of wire.
You’re in your own world just like Cinderella was until the fateful day that marked the arrival of the stepmother and her stepsisters. Life as she once knew simply did not exist. She had to face challenge after challenge merely to survive and when you balance a bazillion equally demanding things like health, academics and anxiety you’re doing exactly the same thing. You are also dealing with something that has high standards and isn’t really easy to please. More than pulling you up, it pulls you down. It’s a hard life- but one you need to go through, unfortunately.
Then there comes the ball which Cinderella prepares for. She does everything possible in her power to attend it and as we know, she can’t because a particular someone intervenes and destroys everything. Again. If you’ve ever intently prepared for something and put all your life and soul into it and then were served disappointment and not an ounce of success, you know how it feels. It seems like a cruel affair for Cinderella too until a certain fairy godmother drops in and fulfils all of her wishes.
